Pursuant to sections 167 and 168 of the Grocery Industry Competition Act 2023, and in accordance with section 43 of the Legislation Act 2019, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Cindy Kiro, gnzm, qso, Governor-General of New Zealand has appointed:

Pierre van Heerden, of Wellington,

as Grocery Commissioner of the Commerce Commission for a term commencing on 13 July 2023 and ending on 11 July 2028.
