Notice of Intention to Consider Renewing and Varying a Scheduled International Air Service Licence of a New Zealand Airline

Pursuant to sections 87I(4) and 87J(3) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, section 41(1) of the State Sector Act 1988, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 28 November 2016, I hereby give notice that the Minister of Transport intends to consider the variation and renewal (for a period of ten years) of the Scheduled International Air Service Licence issued to Air New Zealand Limited. The proposed variation will allow the airline to provide services to open destination points in Italy, code-share services to Stockholm (via Moscow and Singapore) and allow for services to Laos without capacity constraints.

Any person wishing to make representations to the Minister of Transport relating to this application must forward those representations in writing to reach me at the Ministry of Transport, PO Box 3175, Wellington, or email airservices@transport.govt.nz, on or before 17 March 2017.

Signed at Wellington this 17th day of February 2017.

SONYA van de GEER, Principal Adviser, Aviation and Security, Ministry of Transport.
