Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is given of the making of Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices Amendment 2010 (Rule 54002/4).
This Rule makes changes to Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices 2004 (Rule 54002), allowing road controlling authorities to take advantage of a wide range of traffic control devices to implement, improve or maintain safe and efficient traffic management.
The changes also incorporate updated engineering practice, allow the use of some new technologies and ensure that
the Rule is consistent with the requirements of the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004 ("the Road User Rule") and other legislation.
Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices Amendment 2010 comes into force on 1 April 2011.
It is available for inspection free of charge at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, PSIS House, 20 Ballance Street, Wellington, and at the NZ Transport Agency’s regional offices.
