1. This notice of a recommendation and assessment concerning the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 ("Rules"), Rule Amendment Proposal No. 85, 2008, is issued by the Electricity Commission ("Commission") pursuant to section 172E(2)(c) of the Electricity Act 1992 ("Act").
2. The Act provides that, no later than 10 working days after making a recommendation to the Minister of Energy ("Minister") concerning the Rules, the Commission must publicise the recommendation and the assessment completed under section 172F of the Act.
Recommended Amendments to the Rules
3. On 23 April 2008, the Commission recommended that Technical Code A of Schedule C3 of Part C of the Rules
be amended, by amending Rule 8.2 and adding a new Appendix B.
4. The recommended amendments to the Rules were to:
(a) amend Rule 8.2 of Technical Code A of Schedule C3 of Part C of the Rules to require asset owners to carry out testing of their assets in accordance with a new Appendix B to Technical Code A; and
(b) add a new Appendix B to Technical Code A of Schedule C3 of Part C of the Rules which sets out mandatory testing requirements.
