Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager for the Southland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation changes the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule from a local purpose (gravel) reserve to a local purpose (soil conservation and river control) reserve, and further vests the reserve in Hokonui Runanga Incorporated in trust for that purpose, subject to the provisions of the Act.
