Notice of Order for Restoration to the Roll

In the matter of the Law Practitioners Act 1982
Pursuant to section 119 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, notice is hereby given that on 16 June 2004, the New Zealand Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ordered as follows:
THAT
1. Pursuant to section 116 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, the name of the applicant, namely Christopher William Gilbert, be restored to the Roll of Barristers and Solicitors upon the conditions:
(a) that the applicant shall not practise as a solicitor on his own account, whether in partnership or otherwise, until authorised by the tribunal to do so;
(b) that the applicant give his undertaking in writing,
as a solicitor, both to the tribunal and to the
New Zealand Law Society, that he not be employed as a solicitor other than by the Christchurch City Council without the leave of this tribunal. The undertaking shall be given by the applicant within seven days of his name being restored to the roll.
2. The publication of any of the detail of the medical and psychiatric evidence placed before this tribunal, both in 1992 and presently, is prohibited.
3. The applicant pay New Zealand Law Society the sum of $4,088.49 in respect of the costs and expenses of and incidental to this application to the tribunal.
4. The issue of costs of the Waikato Bay of Plenty District Law Society be reserved.
