Notice of Proposed Land Transport Rule:

Heavy-vehicle Load Security
In accordance with section 161 (2) of the Land Transport Act 1998, the Land Transport Safety Authority (LTSA), on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of his intention to make a rule concerning heavy-vehicle load security, and advises that draft Land Transport Rule:
Heavy-vehicle Load Security (Rule 42001) is now available for public comment.
This draft legislation proposes load security requirements for heavy vehicles as a measure that will contribute to
the safe operation of heavy vehicles transporting loads on New Zealand's roads.
A copy of the draft rule may be obtained by calling the LTSA Help Desk on freephone 0800 699 000 or by visiting the LTSA web site at
www.ltsa.govt.nz/consultation/hv-load-security/
The draft rule is also available for viewing at the LTSA's seven regional offices.
A copy of the draft rule has been made available to groups and individuals who have expressed an interest in the rule.
