Notice of Making of Electricity Governance Amendment Rules (No. 3) 2004

1. Pursuant to section 172I of the Electricity Act 1992, I notify the amendment of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 ("the rules") under section 172H of the Electricity Act 1992.
2. The empowering provisions for the electricity governance regulations, in relation to which the rules are made, are sections 172D (2) (a) and (b) of the Electricity
Act 1992.
3. A brief description of the nature of the amendments is follows:
To provide for the operation of large intermittent generation power stations in the wholesale market,
the following amendments to the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 are made:
(a) Amending the definition of "generator" in Part A of the rules;
(b) inserting new terms "intermittent generator", "intermittent generating station" and "wind generating station" in Part A;
(c) amending rule 3.1 of section II of part G;
(d) amending rule 3.6 of section II of part G;
(e) amending rule 3.8 of section II of part G;
(f) amending rule 3.9 of section II of part G;
(g) amending rule 3.12 of section II of part G;
(h) amending rule 3.14 of section II of part G;
(i) amending rule 3.15 of section II of part G;
(j) amending rule 3.17.1 of section II of part G;
(k) amending rule 3.18 of section II of part G;
(l) amending rule 3.19 of section II of part G;
(m) amending rule 4.4 of section III of part G;
(n) renumbering existing rules 4.4.5 to 4.4.10 of section III of part G as 4.4.6 to 4.4.11 of section III of part G;
(o) amending rule 4.11 of section III of part G;
(p) amending rule 8.2.1 of section III of part G;
(q) amending rule 3.2.1 of section V of part G;
(r) deleting rule 3.2.2 of section V of part G;
(s) renumbering existing rules 3.2.3 to 3.2.5 of section V of part G as 3.2.2 to 3.2.4 of section V of part G;
(t) amending rule 3.3 of section V of part G;
(u) amending rule 1.3.4 of schedule G6 of part G;
(v) inserting a new Form 2 in schedule G1 of part G;
(w) renumbering existing Forms 2 to 6 as Forms 3 to 7; and
(x) updating all relevant cross references appropriately.
4. These rules come into force on 1 July 2004.
