Childcare Assistance Amendment (No 2) 2003

Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister for Social Development and Employment establishes and approves the following amendment to the Childcare Assistance Welfare Programme (as established and approved on 19 December 1998).

A m e n d m e n t
1. Title-(1) This amendment is the Childcare Assistance Amendment (No 2) 2003.
(2) In this amendment, the Childcare Assistance Welfare Programme is called "the programme".
2. Commencement-This amendment comes into effect on 1 July 2003.
3. Payment and rates of childcare and OSCAR subsidies-The programme is amended by omitting from each of clauses 8 (2), 8 (3), 9 (2), 12 (2) (b) and 12 (3) (b) the expression
"37"
and substituting in each case the expression
"50"
4. Revocation-The Childcare Assistance Amendment (No 2) 2001 is revoked.

This amendment, which takes effect on 1 July 2003, increases the maximum number of hours for which childcare and
Out of School Care and Recreation (OSCAR) subsidies can be paid from 37 to 50 hours a week.
