Designation of Auditing Agency

Pursuant to section 32 of the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001 ("the Act"), the Director-General of Health designates Allied Certification Services Pty Limited ("the auditing agency") to audit the provision or likely future provision of the following kinds of health care services:
Hospital care (as defined in section 4 (1) of the
Act) excluding children's health services, geriatric services, maternity services, medical services, surgical services
Residential disability care (as defined in section 4 (1) of the Act) excluding sensory
This designation is subject to the following conditions:
1. The auditing agency must ensure that where it audits the provision of health care services for people with physical disabilities, or intellectual disabilities, or psychiatric disabilities or mental illnesses, the auditing agency observes the following:
? For audits involving services for people with physical disabilities, a person with a pronounced physical disability must fully participate in all aspects of the audit.
? For audits involving services for people with intellectual disabilities, a person with an intellectual disability (accompanied by a support person where necessary), or a close family or whanau member of a person with an intellectual disability, must participate in all aspects of the audit.
? For people with psychiatric disabilities or mental illnesses, a past or present consumer of mental health services must fully participate in all aspects of the audit.
2. The auditing agency must inform the Ministry of Health immediately by way of written notice if there is any change to their accreditation status with JAS-ANZ.
This notice revokes in its entirety the notice that first designated Allied Certification Services Pty Limited, pursuant to section 32 of the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001, published in the New Zealand Gazette,
8 August 2002, No. 94, page 2552.
