Customs (Certificate of Clearance) Amendment Rules (No. 1) 2002

Pursuant to sections 288 (1) (c) and (12) of the Customs and Excise Act 1996, the Chief Executive hereby amends the Customs (Certificate of Clearance) Rules 1996 and makes the rules prescribing the form of the Certificate of Clearance in respect of small craft.
1. Title-(1) These rules are the Customs (Certificate of Clearance) Amendment Rules (No. 1) 2002.
(2) In these rules, the Customs (Certificate of Clearance) Rules 1996* are called "the principal rules". (*CR 1C/1996)
2. Commencement-These rules come into force on the 28th day after the date of their publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
3. Rule 3 and Schedule Amended-(1) Rule 3 of the principal rules is amended by revoking it and substituting the
following:
"(a) Except in the case of small craft, every certificate of clearance issued, under section 33 (1) of the Act, shall be in Form C3;
(b) Every certificate of clearance issued, under section 33 (1) of the Act, in respect of small craft shall be in Form C3B."
(2) The Schedule of the principal rules is amended by adding thereto Form C3B as is set out in the Schedule to these rules.
(3) Except to the extent amended by these rules, the principal rules shall remain in force.
4. Status of Rules-These rules are Regulations for the purposes of the Regulations (Disallowance) Act 1989.
