Local Authorities for the Purposes of the Reserves Act 1977
Under section 2 of the Reserves Act 1977, I declare Fish and Game Councils, established under section 26P of the Conservation Act 1987, to be local authorities for the purposes of the Reserves Act, to enable them to exercise the powers and functions of a local authority under the Reserves Act.
The Gazette notice dated 19 May 1993 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 3 June 1993, No. 79, page 1466, by which the Minister of Conservation declared the Eastern Fish and Game Council to be a local authority for the purposes of the Reserves Act to enable the vesting of reserves (other than government purposes reserves) in it, is hereby revoked.
