Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime Safety by an instrument of delegation dated
26 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime Safety did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to me by an instrument of delegation dated 26 March 1997.
Therefore I, John Norman Keith Mansell, Divisional Manager, Maritime Operations, hereby approve the following equipment to be approved maritime surveillance equipment for the purposes of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996.
Approved Maritime Surveillance Equipment:
1. "Fly Tech" Model B1-3641-00, S/N B330030774 "Marine PC" computer with PIII 850 MHz processor; 10Gb hard disk drive, 128 Mb RAM, WINDOWS 98 operating system, BTC mini keyboard, Logitech Trackman trackball.

3. "ViewSonic" Model PS775 17" CRT Computer Monitor.
4. Compaq computer serial number 7036FRM30713, Part No. PHS1503N, with PIII 650 MHz processor; 64MB memory, 15 Gb hard disk drive, 48X CD-ROM drive, WINDOWS 98 Release 2 operating system, 15" Philips monitor.
5. Sony Digital Mavica MVC-FD 73 digital camera, serial number S011327717E
when operated on a Cook Strait CPZ Patrol vessel
while working in or near the protected area designated "Area 7 - Cook Strait" and while under the direct control of or working under instructions given in writing by Transpower New Zealand Limited.
This notice comes into effect on 31 May 2001.
