Rules of Casino Table Games, Amendment No. 5

Pursuant to section 63 of the Casino Control Act 1990, the Casino Control Authority on 5 May 2000, resolved that
with effect from 12 May 2000 the Rules of Casino Table Games approved to be conducted and played in the licensed casinos at:
(a) 30-38 Victoria Street, Christchurch;
(b) the property bounded by Hobson, Victoria, Federal and Wellesley Streets, Auckland;
(c) Southern Cross Hotel, 118 High Street, Dunedin; and
(d) the property situated at Beach Street and Lake Esplanade, known as the "Steamerwharf Village", Queenstown,
as set out in the following editions of the New Zealand Gazette:
(a) Supplement, 28 January 1998, No. 8;
(b) Supplement, 29 January 1998, No. 16;
(c) Supplement, 29 January 1999, Nos. 9,10, 11 and 12;
(d) 9 September 1999, No. 114;
(e) 13 January 2000, No. 1; and
(f) Supplement, 20 January 2000, No. 5,
be subsequently amended as set out in the Schedule hereto.

Schedule
1.0 Commencement
These amendments shall come into force on 12 May 2000.
2.0 Division 1-General Rules
Playing Cards, Card Shoes and Automatic Shufflers
Rule 15.1A of this division is hereby deleted and the following substituted:
"15.1A Notwithstanding rule 15.1, when:
(a) the game of poker is played in accordance with the rules contained in divisions 13 and 14, the decks of playing cards used in the games of poker shall contain the number of cards as prescribed in the rules contained in divisions 13 and 14; and
(b) the game of pontoon is played in accordance with the rules contained in division 15, the decks of playing cards used in the games of pontoon shall contain the number of cards as prescribed in the rules contained in division 15."
3.0 Division 3-Mini Baccarat
Wagers
Section 5 of this division is hereby amended by inserting after rule 5.7 the following:
"5.7A Subject to any directions issued by the Authority, and pursuant to rule 5.1, the casino operator may modify payment to winning wagers at the following odds:
(a) wagers on the Player's Hand at odds of 1 to 1;
(b) wagers on the Banker's Hand at odds of 1 to 1 except where the Banker wins with a point count of 6, which shall be paid at odds of 1 to 2
(eg $100 pays $50); and
(c) Tie Bets at odds of 8 to 1."
4.0 Division 4-Midi Baccarat
Wagers
Section 5 of this division is hereby amended by inserting after rule 5.7 the following:
"5.7A Subject to any directions issued by the Authority, and pursuant to rule 5.1, the casino operator may modify payment to winning wagers at the following odds:
(a) wagers on the Player's Hand at odds of 1 to 1;
(b) wagers on the Banker's Hand at odds of 1 to 1 except where the Banker wins with a point count of 6, which shall be paid at odds of 1 to 2
(eg $100 pays $50); and
(c) Tie Bets at odds of 8 to 1."
5.0 Division 5-Baccarat

Section 5 of this division is hereby amended by inserting after rule 5.7 the following:
"5.7A Subject to any directions issued by the Authority, and pursuant to rule 5.1, the casino operator may modify payment to winning wagers at the following odds:
(a) wagers on the Player's Hand at odds of 1 to 1;

6.0 Division 10-Money Wheel
Table Layout and Equipment
6.1 Section 2 of this division is hereby amended by inserting after rule 2.6 the following:
"2.7 The table may be fitted with electronic equipment which is programmed to detect that the wheel has completed four revolutions and/or illuminate the winning symbol on the layout."
Irregularities
6.2 Section 5 of this division is hereby amended by inserting after rule 5.4 the following:
"5.5 If the electronic equipment fails to illuminate the winning areas, or fails to illuminate the winning areas correctly, all wagers shall be taken and paid according to the results shown when the wheel comes to rest in its compartment.
5.6 In the event of malfunction of the electronic equipment, such equipment shall be turned off and the game shall continue."
