Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.
Schedule
0/EXE/55-CAR 61.39 (a)
On 20 January 2000. To each holder of a Commercial Pilot Licence (Balloon). From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 61.39 (a) that each holder of a pilot licence issued under Part 61 shall not exercise the privileges of that licence unless the holder has, in accordance with 61.39 (b), successfully completed a flight review within the immediately preceding 2 years, provided that the holder of the Commercial Pilot Licence (Balloon) has successfully completed a flight review within the immediately preceding 2 years conducted by an Aviation Services Limited balloon flight testing officer.
This exemption shall apply until the 1st day of January 2002 or until withdrawn in writing by the Director.
0/EXE/56-CAR 61.5 (a) (1)
On 20 January 2000. To Gregory Boyce Barrow, Alan Warren Deal, Ian Lindsay Johnston and Spencer Carlyle Putwain. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 61.5 (a) (1), that (with exceptions and alternatives not applicable in this case) each pilot of a New Zealand registered aircraft within New Zealand shall hold an appropriate current pilot licence issued under Part 61. In the case of a BK-117 helicopter which, when being operated under IFR is required by the aircraft flight manual to be operated with a co-pilot, which in turn requires, pursuant to Civil Aviation Rule 61.255 (2), the pilot-in-command to hold a current Airline Transport Pilot Licence (Helicopter).
This exemption applies only while acting as pilot-in-command of a BK-117 helicopter when carrying out air ambulance and rescue operations on behalf of Airwork (NZ) Ltd, provided that Gregory Boyce Barrow, Alan Warren Deal, Ian Lindsay Johnston and Spencer Carlyle Putwain continue to hold a current CPL (H).
This exemption shall remain in effect until withdrawn in writing by the Director.
CAR 47.101-0/EXE/59
On 28 January 2000. To The Kittyhawk Partnership. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 47.101 (a) that the aircraft bear a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with, the specifications prescribed in 47.109 to 47.119 inclusive, provided that the aircraft bears agreed paint scheme and markings and the said aircraft operates only within New Zealand.
The exemption allows P-40N-1, ZK-CAG to display the paint scheme and markings of the aircraft as last flown by the RAAF and replaces exemption 00/EXE/24, which is hereby withdrawn.
This exemption shall remain in effect unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.
