Notice of Inquiry Regarding the Continued Existence of a Sweetened Condensed Milk Industry in New Zealand Having been advised that Nestl New Zealand Limited has ceased its production of sweetened condensed milk in retail sized cans in New Zealand, the Ministry of Commerce is undertaking an inquiry as to whether or not there continues to be a New Zealand industry producing these goods. Anti-dumping duties were imposed on sweetened condensed milk from Thailand in April 1995 as a result of an investigation into claims made by Nestl that these goods were being dumped and were thereby causing material injury to the New Zealand industry. Should it be found that there is no longer a New Zealand industry, a recommendation will be made to the Minister for Enterprise and Commerce that he terminate the anti-dumping duties. If a New Zealand industry is found to still exist, it may be necessary to carry out a formal review of the continued need for the imposition of anti-dumping duties on the goods concerned. Dated at Wellington this 26th day of November 1999. RORY McLEOD, Manager, Trade Remedies Group. Invitation for Submissions Interested parties are invited to make submissions to the Manager, Trade Remedies Group, Ministry of Commerce, P.O. Box 1473, Wellington Submissions should reach the Ministry no later than 17 December 1999.
