Notification of Approved Identification System for Bovine Tuberculosis Control Notice No. 1138 Pursuant to section 50 (5) of the Biosecurity Act 1993 and regulations 8 of the Biosecurity (Animal Identification Systems) Regulations 1999, I give notice that: 1. Animal Health Board (AHB) Identification System approved by Barry O'Neil, chief technical officer on 3 October 1999 may be used to comply with the Biosecurity (Animal Identification Systems) Regulations 1999, with respect to the identification of deer and cattle for the purpose of controlling bovine tuberculosis. 2. I hereby revoke the approval of the Animal Health Board (AHB) Identification System approved on 13 May 1999 and notified in Notice No. 1126 (030 A67) published in the New Zealand Gazette on 10 June 1999 at page 1542. This notice specifies that the Animal Health Board (AHB) Identification System approved on 3 October 1999 may be used for the identification of deer and cattle for the purpose of controlling bovine tuberculosis. This system replaces the Animal Health Board (AHB) Identification System approved on 13 May 1999. The AHB Identification System now allows certain animals not bearing official ear-tags to be moved by their owner to a show and back to their herd under a permit-to-move issued on behalf of the TB management agency.
