Foundation for Arable Research (Inc.) The Commodity Levies (Arable Commodities) Order 1994 Pursuant to section 3 of the Commodity Levies (Arable Commodities) Order 1994, a levy has been imposed on, and shall be payable by, the producers of any arable commodity grown in New Zealand and sold. In accordance with section 10 (1) of the order, the Foundation for Arable Research has determined the rate of the levy for 2000 to be: Herbage and amenity seed 0.4% of assessed value; small grain cereals, maize, pulses 0.4%; oilseeds (oil seed rape, linseed, borage) 0.4%; vegetable, flower, herb and some oilseeds (such as open pollinated brassicas, chrysanthemum, coriander, dill, phacelia, sunflower, safflower, evening primrose) 0.1%; other crops (such as fodder beet, forage brassicas, buckwheat) 0.4%; specialist vegetable seeds (such as hybrid brassicas, carrot, onion, celery, beet) 0.1% or to a maximum dollar value equivalent to the rate for open pollinated brassicas.
