Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Aviation. Schedule Nature of exemptions granted: Docket 97/EXE/12, to Wing & Rotor Aviation Limited on 25 September 1997, being the applicant for the grant of a standard category airworthiness certificate for an imported Kawasaki Hughes 369HS helicopter, serial number 6633, New Zealand registration ZK-HQL, from the requirement of Civil Aviation Rule (CAR) 21.191 (a) (2) (ii), to provide the Director with evidence that a statement of conformity has been issued by, or in accordance with, the rules of the airworthiness authority of the exporting country. Docket 97/EXE/35, to Air New Zealand Limited (Engineering Services, Auckland) on 16 September 1997, from the requirement of CAR 91.529 (a) that except as provided in paragraphs (b), (c) and (d), each aircraft shall have an automatic Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) installed, this being one of the requirements prescribed by CAR Part 91, Subpart F, rule 91.501 (1) for the operation of Boeing 767 and 747 type aircraft. Docket 97/EXE/39, on 4 April 1997. To each pilot in command of an aircraft being operated under VFR within Class C, D or E airspace that is a control zone defined by CAR 19.253 (a) (7) from the requirement of CAR 91.301 (a) (2) that requires the aircraft to be operated at a distance of not less than 1000 feet vertically from clouds. Docket 98/EXE/1, to Mr S. M. Smith on 11 July 1997 from the requirements contained in Appendix A of Part 146 regarding the qualifications and experience required for, and privileges and limitations associated with, the grant of a delegation, in accordance with section 23b of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, for the approval of design changes. Docket 98/EXE/3, to Ansett New Zealand Limited (Christchurch) on 16 September 1997 from the requirements of CAR Part 91, Appendix A, paragraph A15 (j) (2) that each Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) required to be installed by CAR Part 91, subpart F, rule 91.529, shall be replaced with an ELT meeting the requirements of TSO C91a when the ELT becomes unserviceable, this being one of the requirements prescribed by CAR 91.501 (1) and (2) for the operation of DHC-8-102 type aircraft. Docket 98/EXE/11, to Rex Aviation (NZ) Limited on 16 September 1997 from the requirement of CAR Part 91, Appendix A, paragraph A15 (j) (2) that each Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) required to be installed on aircraft by CAR Part 91, subpart F, rule 91.529, shall be replaced with an ELT meeting the requirements of TSO C91a when the ELT becomes unserviceable, this being one of the requirements prescribed by CAR 91.501 (1) and (2) for the operation of EMB-11OP1 type aircraft. Docket 98/EXE/16, to Mr J. S. Ardern on 25 September 1997 from the requirement contained in Appendix A of Part 146 regarding the qualifications and experience required for, and the privileges and limitations associated with, the grant of a delegation, in accordance with section 23b of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, for the approval of design changes. Docket 98/EXE/17, to Mr P. E. P. Scanlan on 25 September 1997 from the requirement contained in Appendix A of Part 146 regarding the qualifications and experience required for, and the privileges and limitations associated with, the grant of a delegation, in accordance with section 23b of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, for the approval of design changes. Docket 98/EXE/32, to Ansett New Zealand Limited on 16 September 1997 from the requirement of CAR Part 91, Appendix A, paragraph A15 (j) (2) that each Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) required to be installed on aircraft by CAR Part 91, subpart F, rule 91.529, shall be replaced with an ELT meeting the requirements of TSO C91a when the ELT becomes unserviceable, this being one of the requirements prescribed by CAR 91.501 (1) and (2) for the operation of BAe 146 type aircraft. Docket 98/EXE/36, to Airwork (NZ) Limited on 26 September 1997 from the requirement of CAR 119.169 (a) (1) (ii) to comply with New Zealand Civil Airworthiness Requirements C.4 2.2 to have a Flight Data Recorder (FDR) installed in ZK-PAA, a Metro III (SA 227 S/N A/C-582) being a turbine engined air transport aircraft with a maximum certificated take-off weight greater than 5700 kg.
