Approval of the Heavy Vehicle Brake Code Second Edition Pursuant to regulation 16a (2) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, and delegated authority from the Director of Land Transport Safety, by instrument of subdelegation dated 18 December 1996, I, Peter Waring, Senior Policy Engineer, approve the use of the Land Transport Safety Authority's Heavy Vehicle Brake Code, Second Edition to replace the Ministry of Transport's First Edition of the Heavy Vehicle Brake Code, as an alternative standard to the Interim Performance Specification for Heavy Vehicle Braking referred to in regulation 16a (1) (b) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, for vehicle combinations operating between 39 000 and 44 000 kgs Gross Combined Mass (GCM). This approval takes effect from the 31st day of August 1997. The approval to use the Ministry of Transport's First Edition of the Heavy Vehicle Brake Code is withdrawn.
