The Petroleum (Ministerial Consent) Order 1993 CATHERINE A. TIZARD, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At Wellington this 23rd day of November 1993 Present: Her Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to section 29 (4) of the Petroleum Act 1937 (as continued in force by section 107 (1) of the Crown Minerals Act 1991), Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order. O r d e r 1. Title and commencement (1) This order may be cited as the Petroleum (Ministerial Consent) Order 1993. (2) This order shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its publication in the Gazette. 2. Appropriate Minister The Minister of Conservation shall be the appropriate Minister to grant consent under section 29 (3) of the Petroleum Act 1937 where such consent is sought in respect of land to which section 29 (1) (m) of that Act applies. MARIE SHROFF, Clerk of the Executive Council. Explanatory Note This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect. This order provides that the Minister of Conservation is the appropriate Minister to grant consent where consent is sought to enter the seabed to commence or carry on any mining operations under the Petroleum Act 1937.
