Pursuant to Regulation 26 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for Te Hoe Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2022.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 28 February 2022.

3. Mātaitai Reserve

This notice applies to Te Hoe Mātaitai Reserve that was declared by the Fisheries (Declaration and Notification of Te Hoe Mataitai Reserve and Appointment of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki Notice 2012 (No. MPI 16) (New Zealand Gazette, 16 August 2012, No. 98, page 2737).

4. Appointment Cancelled

(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has cancelled the appointment of Edward Hammond as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserve.

(2) The cancellation took effect at the end of 31 January 2022.

5. Appointment

• The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has appointed Laurence Blake as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserve.
• The appointment took effect on 1 February 2022.
