Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 58H(2A) of the Resource Management Act 1991, that the Minister for the Environment has approved changes to the National Planning Standards 2019.

The changes are to alter the period for compliance specified in standards 17.2.a and 17.8.a of the National Planning Standards 2019, from three years after the date that the National Planning Standards came into effect to five years after that date.

The changes to the National Planning Standards 2019 take effect 28 days after this notice.

Copies of the updated standards may be inspected free of charge at the offices of the Ministry for the Environment, 23 Kate Sheppard Place, Thorndon, Wellington. Copies are also available on the Ministry for the Environment’s website at www.environment.govt.nz/publications/national-planning-standards/.
