Pursuant to section 398(2) of the Food Act 2014, notice is given of the adoption of Part of Standard 2.1.1-5 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code in relation to folic acid only. The Minister for Food Safety adopted the standard by notice on 6 August 2021.
This joint food standard came into effect on 13 August 2021.

Also, pursuant to section 408 of the Food Act 2014, notice is given of the issue on 6 August 2021 of the Food Standard: New Zealand Permitted Fortification of Bread with Folic Acid which came into effect on 13 August 2021.
This Food Notice revokes and replaces the New Zealand (Permitted Fortification of Bread with Folic Acid) Food Standards 2012, issued 27 August 2012.
