Pursuant to Regulation 26 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for Te Puna Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2021.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 4 February 2021.

3. Mātaitai Reserve

This notice applies to Te Puna Mātaitai Reserve (on the Karikari Peninsula) that was declared by the Fisheries (Declaration and Notification of Te Puna Mātaitai Reserve and Appointment of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki) Notice 2013 (No. MPI 177) in the New Zealand Gazette, 1 August 2013, Issue No. 97, page 2593.

4. Appointment Cancelled

(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has cancelled the appointment of Arthur Ashby as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the area/rohe moana.

(2) The cancellation took effect at the end of 16 December 2020.

5. Appointment

(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has appointed Tinika Hohaia as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserve.

(2) The appointment took effect on 17 December 2020.
