Notice of Payment into Victims’ Claims Trust Account

A compensation payment has been made to the following offenders in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of the following offenders to make claims against it.

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to the following offenders.

Please note that the list of offenders contains the date on which the payment was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account and the amount.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for the above-named offenders until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of the above-named offenders, in respect of an offence for which these offenders were convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of these offenders.

Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.
