Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, and the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017, the NZ Transport Agency hereby makes the following bylaw.

Bylaw

1. Title and Commencement—This bylaw is the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2021/5 and will come into force on and from 14 May 2021.

2. Amendments—The New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10* is hereby amended by:

• Inserting line 413B in Schedule 1 to read:
  “Line No.: 413B
  Region: 4
  SH No.: 30 and 33
  Locality: Tikitere
  Section of State Highway: On SH30, from NZTM2000 1891766, 5780003, approximately 138m south of SH30-SH33 Intersection, and on SH33 to NZTM2000 1891718, 5780319, approximately 169m north of the SH30-SH33 intersection.
  Speed Limit (km/h): See Schedule 2
  Effective Date: 14/5/2021
  Speed Limit Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017
  New Zealand Gazette Reference: 16 April 2021, Notice No. 2019-au1412”
• Inserting line 413B in Schedule 2 to read:
  “Line No.: 413B
  Region: 4
  SH No.: 30 and 33
  Locality: Tikitere
  Section of State Highway: On SH30, from NZTM2000 1891766, 5780003, approximately 138m south of SH30-SH33 Intersection, and on SH33 to NZTM2000 1891718, 5780319, approximately 169m north of the SH30-SH33 intersection.
  Speed Limit (km/h): Any time during any period specified in condition 3 of the Rural Intersection Active Warning System Variable Speed Limits – State Highway 33, State Highway 30 Intersection Tikitere, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty Notice, New Zealand Gazette, 8 March 2021, Notice No. 2021-au857 when a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals “60”, the speed limit is 60km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 80km/h.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the bylaw but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This bylaw, which comes into force on and from 14th May 2021, amends the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10.
