Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, and the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017, the NZ Transport Agency hereby makes the following bylaw.

Bylaw

1. Title and Commencement—This bylaw is the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2021/3 and will come into force on and from 14 June 2021

2. Amendments—The New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10* is hereby amended by:

• Amending line 62 in Schedule 1 to read:
  “Line No.: 62

  Speed Limit (km/h): The variable speed limit may operate when a vehicle is detected approaching the intersection on Designation Road or turning right on State Highway 1 and may continue to operate until those vehicles have cleared the intersection, as specified in Condition 2 of the Rural Intersection Active Warning System Variable Speed Limit – State Highway 1, Designation Road, Warkworth, New Zealand Gazette, 8 March 2021, Notice No. 2021-au855. When a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals “60”, the speed limit is 60km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 80km/h.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the bylaw, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This bylaw, which comes into force on and from 14 June 2021, amends the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10.
