Amendment of the NAIT Accreditation of Information Providers Standard and the NAIT Accreditation of Entities Dealing with NAIT Animals Standard

Pursuant to section 19 of the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012, I, Stephen Stuart, acting under delegated authority as Chief Executive of National Animal Identification and Tracing Limited (acting as the NAIT organisation), give notice of amendment of the NAIT Accreditation of Information Providers Standard and the NAIT Accreditation of Entities Dealing with NAIT Animals Standard.

These amendments take effect on the date of publication of this notice and will continue until the cessation of the National State of Emergency due to COVID-19. The amendments are as follows:

NAIT Accreditation of Information Providers Standard

  • Amend clause 5.6 (“When internet services are unavailable, an information provider must submit data as soon as possible after the services resume, and in any event, within 24 hours, unless by prior arrangement with the NAIT organisation”) to replace “24 hours” with “five business days”.
  • Amend clause 5.14 (“Information providers must resolve any data upload failures or errors within 48 hours of being notified of the failure or error, regardless of how or by whom the notification is made”) to replace “48 hours” with “five business days”.
  • Amend clause 5.16 (“Where a PICA advises the information provider of incorrectly recorded data, the information provider must take reasonable steps to resolve the issue within 48 hours”) to replace “48 hours” with “five business days”.
  • Amend clause 5.18 (“If the information provider is unable to resolve the issue, it must notify the PICA and the NAIT organisation that the incorrect data cannot be rectified, as soon as possible after the expiry of the initial 48 hours”) to replace “48 hours” with “five business days”.
  • Amend clause 5.19 (“Where an information provider is informed of or identifies an incorrectly recorded movement and hasn’t been informed of this movement by the PICA, the provider must inform the PICA of the incorrect movement within 48 hours, as well as whether the issue has been resolved”) to replace “48 hours” with “five business days”.

NAIT Accreditation of Entities Dealing with NAIT Animals Standard

  • Amend clause 5.7 (“When internet services are unavailable, an entity dealing with NAIT animals must submit data as soon as possible after the services resume, and in any event, within 24 hours unless by prior arrangement with the NAIT organisation”) to replace “24 hours” with “five business days”.
  • Amend clause 5.15 (“Entities dealing with NAIT animals must resolve any data upload failures or errors within 48 hours of being notified of the error, regardless of how or by whom the notification is made”) to replace “48 hours” with “five business days”.
  • Amend clause 5.17 (“Where a PICA advises either an entity dealing with NAIT animals or the NAIT organisation of an incorrectly recorded animal movement, the entity must take reasonable steps to resolve the issue within 48 hours. In particular […]”) to replace “48 hours” with “five business days”.
  • Amend clause 5.19 (“If the entity dealing with NAIT animals is unable to resolve the issue, it must notify the PICA and the NAIT organisation that the incorrect data cannot be rectified, as soon as possible after the expiry of the initial 48 hours”) to replace “48 hours” with “five business days”.
  • Amend clause 5.20 (“Where an entity dealing with NAIT animals is informed of or identifies an incorrectly recorded movement and hasn’t been informed of this movement by the PICA, the entity must inform the PICA of the incorrect movement within 48 hours, as well as whether the issue has been resolved”) to replace “48 hours” with “five business days”.
