Exemption of Persons From Requirements of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020

Pursuant to clause 27 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020 (“Order”), I, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General, Ministry of Health, hereby declare that the following persons are exempted from clause 23 clause 9(k)of the Order:

Persons accessing health services, or supporting a person accessing health services, to travel inter-regionally to access those services.

This exemption is subject to the following conditions:

  1. The person accessing the health services must have an appointment.
  2. No additional activities are carried out beyond what is reasonably required to access health services.
  3. Persons travelling into the alert level 3 area under this exemption must carry evidence from the health service which they are accessing that they have an appointment.

Further pursuant to clause 27 of the Order, I declare that the following persons are exempted from clause 23 and clause 9(i) of the Order:

Persons travelling to pick up or drop off a child as part of a shared caregiving arrangement.

This exemption is subject to the following conditions:

  1. The person must travel directly to collect or drop off the child.

Further pursuant to clause 27 of the Order, I declare that the following persons are exempted from clause 23 and clause 9(j)of the Order:

Persons permanently relocating their home or place of residence into or out of Auckland.

The exemption will begin at 11.59pm on 14 August 2020 and cease at the expiry of the Order.
