Pursuant to sections 5ZA(4)(a)(ii) and 5ZH(2)(b) of the Climate Change Response Act 2002 (“Act”) I have received a request from the Climate Change Commission to extend the statutory deadlines for its advice on the following matters:

1. The first 3 emissions budgets, in accordance with section 5ZA of the Act; and
2. The first emissions reduction plan, in accordance with section 5ZH of the Act.

The new deadline for each piece of advice is 31 May 2021.
