In accordance with section 446(a) and (b) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of the Minister’s intention to make the following rules:

Maritime Rules (International Omnibus) 2020

Marine Protection Rules (International Omnibus) 2020

The proposed rules involve a wide range of amendments to Maritime Rules Parts, and to Marine Protection Rules Parts. The amendments reflect changes to international conventions to which New Zealand is a party.

Comments are invited on the above proposed rules developed under the Maritime Transport Act 1994.

The draft rule amendments and consultation document can be found at: www.maritimenz.govt.nz/consultation.

Submissions must be made by email, post, or physical delivery by 5.00pm on Friday 23 October 2020.
