New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2020/18

Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, and the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017, the NZ Transport Agency hereby makes the following bylaw.

Bylaw

1. Title and Commencement—This bylaw is the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2020/18 and will come into force on and from 9 September 2020

2. Amendments—The New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10* is hereby amended by:

  • Inserting line 823A in Schedule 1 to read:
    “Line No.: 823A
    Region: 11
    SH No.: 1
    Locality: Rangitata Island
    Section of State Highway: From 150m north of SH79 to 150m south of SH79.
    Speed Limit (km/h): See Schedule 2
    Effective Date: 9/9/2020
    Speed Limit Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017
    New Zealand Gazette Reference: 13/8/2020, Notice No. 2020-au3668”
  • Inserting line 823A in Schedule 2 to read:
    “Line No.: 823A
    Region: 11
    SH No.: 1
    Locality: Rangitata Island
    Section of State Highway: The section of State Highway 1 from 150m north of SH79 to 150m south of SH79.
    Speed Limit (km/h): Any time during any period specified in condition 3 of the Variable Speed Limits at Rural Intersections Notice when a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals “60”, the speed limit is 60km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 100km/h.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the bylaw, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This bylaw, which comes into force on and from 9 September 2020, amends the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10.
