Take notice that, pursuant to part 2 (subpart 2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”), compensation awarded to Oleg Korobov was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 2 February 2017, and the surplus was paid into the victims’ claims trust account on 14 February 2017 on behalf of Oleg Korobov to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.
And that notice was given by publication in the New Zealand Gazette, 16 March 2017, Notice No. 2017-go1235, on 18 March 2017 in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, and on 23 March 2017 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the trust account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.
Under section 48(4) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the trust account on behalf of Oleg Korobov to the offender.
