Notice of Altered Geographic Names and a Discontinued Crown Protected Area Name for Rangitāne Tū Mai Rā (Wairarapa Tamaki nui-ā-Rua) Claims Settlement Act 2017

Pursuant to sections 58 and 59 of the Rangitāne Tū Mai Rā (Wairarapa Tamaki nui-ā-Rua) Claims Settlement Act 2017 (“Settlement Act 2017”), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) hereby gives notice of 11 altered and one discontinued official geographic names.

Schedules 1 and 2 below specify the details of the altered and discontinued official geographic names.

The official geographic names took effect on 10 October 2017, being the settlement date specified in the Settlement Act 2017.

Pursuant to section 60 of the Settlement Act 2017, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic names, as listed in Schedule 1 below, with the consent of the trustees of Rangitāne Tū Mai Rā Trust.

Government Purpose Reserve
