Pursuant to section 68 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Julie Howden, extend the local transition period over Kaikoura District owing to the 14 November 2016 earthquake.

This extension of the transition period:

1. comes into force immediately before 1.00pm on 30 August 2017, which is when the current transition period ends;
2. is in force for 28 days; and
3. ends at 1.00pm on 27 September 2017, unless terminated or further extended earlier.
