Pursuant to section 32 of the Corrections Act 2004, the Minister of Corrections gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title—This notice is the Corrections (Auckland Prison) Notice 2017.

2. Commencement—This notice takes effect from 8 December 2017.

3. Auckland Prison—The land and the parts of the buildings described in the Schedule are declared to be a corrections prison, to be known as Auckland Prison.

4. Revocation—The Corrections (Auckland Prison) Notice 2014 (SR 2014/297) is revoked.

Schedule: Auckland Prison

All the following parcels of land and the following parts of buildings:

1. all that parcel of land in the North Auckland Land Registration District containing 4.1581ha, more or less, being Lot 3 DP 64525, and being the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register NA21B/219;
2. all that parcel of land in the North Auckland Land Registration District containing 21.2474ha, more or less, being Section 1 SO 66967 and Lot 4 DP 24508, and being the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register NA100C/864;
3. all that parcel of land in the North Auckland Land Registration District containing 31.9155ha, more or less, being Section 1 SO 70641 and Part Allotment 681, Parish of Paremoremo, and being all the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register 663963;
4. all that parcel of land in the North Auckland Land Registration District containing 9230m², more or less, being Allotment 680, Parish of Paremoremo, and being all the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register NA102D/363;
5. all those parcels of land in the North Auckland Land Registration District containing 37.8245ha, more or less, being Sections 1–3 SO 476557, and being part of the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register 662468;
6. all that parcel of land in the North Auckland Land Registration District containing 2413m², more or less, being Part Lot 10 DP 59580, and being all the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register NA108D/38;
7. all that parcel of land in the North Auckland Land Registration District containing 6400m², more or less, being Section 1 SO 66966, and being all the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register NA108D/127;
8. the cell block contained within the building complex known as the North Shore District Court situated on the land described in Computer Freehold Register NA128B/138;
9. the cell block contained within the building complex known as the Auckland High Court situated on the land described in Computer Freehold Register NA88C/879;
10. the cell block contained within the building complex known as the Auckland District Court situated on the land described in Computer Freehold Register NA60A/1051; and
11. the cell block contained within the building complex known as the Manukau District Court situated on the land described in Computer Freehold Register NA88C/872.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice takes effect from 8 December 2017. It declares the land and parts of buildings described in the Schedule to be a prison known as Auckland Prison. This notice revokes and replaces the Corrections (Auckland Prison) Notice 2014 to reflect reinstatement of the land area at Auckland Prison removed to enable redevelopment works to be undertaken on part of the prison site.
