Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, and the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017 the NZ Transport Agency hereby makes the following bylaw.

Bylaw

1. Title—This bylaw is the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2017/15.

2. Commencement—This bylaw comes into force on and from the date of publication of the notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

3. Principal bylaw amended—This bylaw amends the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10.*

4. Inserting a new column in Schedule 1 “Effective Date”.

5. Inserting a new column in Schedule 1 “Date Revoked”.

6. Inserting a new column in Schedule 1 “Speed Limit Rule”.

7. Inserting “Setting of Speed Limits Rule (2003)” into “Speed Limit Rule” for all speed limits currently in Schedule 1.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the bylaw, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This bylaw, which comes into force on and from the date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette, amends the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10.*

Clause 4–7 amend Schedule 1 to fulfil new requirements under the Land Transport Rule Setting of Speed Limits 2017.
