Notice of Altered Geographic and Crown Protected Area Names for Hineuru Treaty of Waitangi Settlement 2016

Pursuant to sections 63, 64 and 66 of the Hineuru Claims Settlement Act 2016 (“Settlement Act 2016”), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) hereby gives notice of five altered official geographic and Crown protected area names.

The Schedule below specifies the details of the five altered official geographic and Crown protected area names, their geographic feature type or term, their descriptions, their former names, statuses and New Zealand Gazette references.

The official geographic and Crown protected area names took effect on 2 August 2016, being the settlement date specified in the Settlement Act 2016.

Pursuant to sections 65 and 66(5) of the Settlement Act 2016, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic or Crown protected area names, as listed in the Schedule below, with the consent of the trustees of Te Kōpere o te iwi o Hineuru Trust.
