Notice of Amendment to the Acceptable Solution B1/AS1 and Verification Method B1/VM1 for New Zealand Building Code Clause B1

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Building Act 2004 (“Act”), I give notice of amendments to the Acceptable Solution B1/AS1 and Verification Method B1/VM1 for New Zealand Building Code Clause B1.

The 14th amendment to B1/AS1 and B1/VM1 comes into force on 4 November 2016, with the exception of paragraph 14.2 in B1/VM1 (Laboratory accreditation), which comes into force on 1 January 2017.

The Amendment 13 version of B1/AS1 and B1/VM1 ceases to have legal effect at the close of 30 May 2017.

B1/AS1 and B1/VM1 are available for download free of charge from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s (“MBIE”) website

New Material Incorporated by Reference

Pursuant to section 410(1)(e) of the Act, I give notice that, as of 4 November 2016, the following materials are incorporated by reference into Verification Method B1/VM1:

  • ISO 15630-2: 2010: Steel for the reinforcement and prestressing of concrete – Test methods – Part 2 Welded fabric.
  • AS 1391: 2007: Metallic materials—Tensile testing at ambient temperature.
  • ISO 17025: General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

Viewing Materials Incorporated by Reference
