CUSTOMS AND EXCISE ACT 1996

CUSTOMS (ADVANCE NOTICE OF DEPARTURE) AMENDMENT RULES 2016

Pursuant to sections 288(1)(a) and 288(12) of the Customs and Excise Act 1996, the chief executive hereby makes the following amendments to the Customs (Advance Notice of Departure) Rules 2014.

RULES

1. Title and Commencement

(1) These rules are the Customs (Advance Notice of Departure) Amendment Rules 2016.

(2) These rules shall come into force on 18 February 2016.

2. Interpretation

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires:

(a) The term “the Act” means the Customs and Excise Act 1996.

(b) Any terms used in these rules which are defined in section 2 of the Act shall have the meanings given to them by that section.

(c) The term “the principal rules” means the Customs (Advance Notice of Departure) Rules 2014 (CR 1AD/2014).

3. Principal Rules Amended

(1) Form C2B in the Schedule of the principal rules is hereby revoked and substituted with the form set out in the Schedule to these rules.

4. Rules to Continue in Force

Except to the extent amended by these rules, the principal rules remain in force.
