Pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training and Apprenticeships Act 1992, the Infrastructure Industry Training Organisation Incorporated (Connexis) is recognised as an industry training organisation for the following specified infrastructure industries:
- Telecommunications;
- water, including water reticulation, water treatment and wastewater treatment;
- electricity supply, including the management of power systems and assets, design, construction, operation and the maintenance of the production, transmission and utilisation of electrical energy; and
- civil infrastructure, including road construction and maintenance, civil engineering works, demolition, agricultural contracting and spraying, road marking and bitumen industries, surveying, planning and associated activities in an infrastructure construction process.
The recognition takes effect from 17 October 2016.
Recognition given to Connexis as an industry training organisation under each of the notices below is cancelled and the notices are revoked:
- The notice titled Notice of Extension of Coverage for the Infrastructure Industry Training Organisation Incorporated (Formerly Known as the Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation Incorporated), published in the New Zealand Gazette, 26 September 2013, No. 131, page 3682;
- the notice titled Notice of Change to Specified Industries for the Infrastructure Industry Training Organisation Incorporated, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 4 June 2015, Issue No. 62, Notice No. 2015-au3216;
- the notice titled Notice of Provisional Recognition for the Infrastructure Industry Training Organisation Incorporated, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 15 October 2015, Issue No. 113, Notice No. 2015-au6081; and
- the notice titled Notice of Change to Specified Industries for the Infrastructure Industry Training Organisation Incorporated, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 21 April 2016, Issue No. 34, Notice No. 2016-au2170.
