Under section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (“Act”), and having complied with section 39 of that Act, the Electricity Authority (“Authority”) gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation Code Amendment (Requirements and Processes for Audits) 2016 (“amendment”).
- The amendment comes into force on 1 June 2017.
- The amendment inserts a new Part 16A into the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”) and makes changes to Parts 1, 10, 11, 15 and 17 of the Code. The amendment clarifies the purpose of the participant audit regime. It improves the governance of the audit regime in order to better align it with international audit best practice. The amendment also improves the operational efficiency of the audit regime in order to better align it with the Authority’s statutory objective.
