Notice of New and Altered Geographic Names for Tapuika Treaty of Waitangi Settlement 2014

Pursuant to sections 61 and 62 of Tapuika Claims Settlement Act 2014 ("Settlement Act 2014"), the New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of three new and two altered geographic names.
Schedule 1 below specifies the details of the three new geographic names; their geographic feature types and their descriptions.
Schedule 2 below specifies the details of the two altered geographic names; their geographic feature types; their descriptions; and their former names.
The official geographic names took effect on 20 May 2014, being the date that the Settlement Act 2014 came into effect.
Pursuant to section 63 of the Settlement Act 2014, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic name,
as listed in Schedules 1 and 2 below, with the consent of the trustees of the Tapuika Iwi Authority Trust.

Parawhenuamea Stream Stream A stream flowing generally northeast from a location along Te Matai Road halfway between Reeves Road and Waimea Drive, into Kaituna River at the same location that Wairi Stream flows into Kaituna River, approximately 3km northeast of Te Puke. NZTopo50-BD37 913054 (source) to 946148 (mouth). See the former location of Parawhenuamea Stream below, replaced by Pakipaki Stream.
Puetou Historic site An historic site southeast of spot height 337m approximately 5km northwest of Lake Rotoiti. NZTopo50-BE37 921901.
Te Raho-o-Totokau Stream Stream A stream flowing generally northeast adjacent to No 1 Road, into Waiari Stream approximately 7km south of Te Puke. NZTopo50-BD37 901055 (source) to 910065 (mouth).

Pakipaki Stream Stream A stream flowing generally northeast from a location near the intersection of Te Matai Road and Rangiuru Road, into a stream where it crosses Rangiuru Road approximately 1km southeast of Te Matai. Paraiti River River A river flowing generally northeast from the confluence of Mangorewa River and Ohaupara Stream near State Highway 36 on Mamaku Plateau, approximately 10km northwest of Lake Rotorua/Te Rotorua nui a Kahumatamomoe, to its confluence with Kaituna River.
