Notice of Proposals to Assign or Alter Geographic Names

Pursuant to section 16 of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008 ("Act"), the
New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa hereby gives notice of proposals to assign new or alter existing, geographic names.
The proposed new or altered geographic names are specified in the first column of the Schedule below.
The geographic feature type that each proposed new or altered geographic name relates to is set out in the second column of the Schedule.
The description of each proposed new or altered geographic name is set out in the third column of the Schedule.
The date by which submissions must be received is provided in the fourth column of the Schedule.
Submissions on the proposed new or altered geographic names may be provided in writing to the Secretary of the
New Zealand Geographic Board, c/o Land Information New Zealand, PO Box 5501, Wellington 6145, or Email: nzgbsubmissions@linz.govt.nz, or Website: www.linz.govt.nz/placenames/consultation/index.aspx
In accordance with section 17 of the Act, submissions must state, with reasons, whether the proposal is supported or objected to and if an objection is made, then submissions may set out an alternative proposal, or support the existing name, if any.

Norman Creek Creek A small creek flowing generally north-easterly
for approximately 2.5km into Lake Wanaka, opposite Ruby Island. NZTopo50 CB12-Cardrona, GR 882 438 to GR 900 449. Assigning a new name for an unnamed feature. 14 February 2014
Southland Land District
Codfish Island / Whenua Hou Island An island located approximately 3km north-west of Stewart Island / Rakiura. NZTopo50 CH08- Codfish Island (Whenuahou), NZTM 1190420E, 4806155N. Depicted on maps and charts as Codfish Island (Whenuahou), Codfish (Whenuahau) Island, Codfish Island, Whenua hou, Codfish Island / Whenuahou, and Codfish Island / Whenua Hou.
