Pursuant to section 125AA of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister for Social Development gives the following direction.
D i r e c t i o n
1. Title-This direction is the direction in relation to the preferred supply of goods and services.
2. Commencement-This direction comes into effect on the day after the date on which it is given.
3. Interpretation-(1) In this direction:
Act means the Social Security Act 1964.
premises has the same meaning as in section 61E(1) of the Act.
(2) Terms otherwise defined in sections 3(1) and 125AA of the Act have the same meanings in this direction.
4. Goods and services that may be subject of preferred supplier contracts under section 125AA(3)-For the purposes of section 125AA(3) of the Act, I determine
that the chief executive may enter into contracts on behalf
of the Crown for the supply of the following goods and services for the purposes specified in section 125AA(2)(b) and (d) of the Act:
Goods
(a) combined refrigerator-freezers;
(b) separate freezers;
(c) separate refrigerators;
(d) washing machines;
Services
(e) delivery to the premises of purchasers of any of the goods listed in paragraphs (a) to (d);
(f) installation of any of the goods listed in paragraphs (a) to (d);
(g) removal from the premises of purchasers of any goods that any goods listed in paragraphs (a) to (d) replace;
(h) repairs or replacements of any of the goods listed in paragraphs (a) to (d) pursuant to a warranty;
(i) bailment of equivalent goods, while any of the goods listed in paragraphs (a) to (d) are being repaired or are being assessed as requiring repair;
(j) disposal of any packaging associated with the supply of any of the goods listed in paragraphs (a) to (d).
