Revoking State Highway and Declaring Sections of State Highway-State Highway 1, Central Wellington

Pursuant to section 103 of the Land Transport Management Act 2003, the Secretary for Transport gives notice that, with effect from 17 February 2012:
(a) Parts of State Highway 1 (northbound and southbound) described in the First Schedule are revoked; and
(b) The sections of new road described in the Second Schedule are declared to be State highway.
First Schedule
Parts of State Highway 1 in Central Wellington (being the former route of State Highway 1):
Southbound
From the western side of the intersection of Willis
Street and Ghuznee Street (RP 1075(I)/0.129), then
east along the full length of Ghuznee Street to RP 1075(I)/0.614, then south along Taranaki Street
to Vivian Street (RP 1075(I)/0.770), then east along Vivian Street to Kent Terrace (RP 1075(I)/1.239) and south along Kent Terrace to its end at the Basin
Reserve (RP 1075(I)/1.530), being approximately 1,400m in length.
Northbound
From the intersection of Buckle Street and Sussex
Street (RP 1075(D)/1.305), west along Buckle Street
to Taranaki Street (RP 1075(D)/0.958), then north
along the western side of Taranaki Street (to RP 1075I/0.770), and west along Vivian Street to Willis Street (RP 1075I/0.305) joining the northbound on ramp to the Terrace Tunnel and ending at the southern end of the Terrace Tunnel (RP 1075/0.000), being approximately 1,305m in length.
Second Schedule
Parts of the new State Highway 1 in Central Wellington (known as the Inner City Bypass):
(a) From the southern end of the Terrace Tunnel (RP 1075/0.000) in a general southerly direction to the intersection of Willis Street and Vivian Street (RP 1075(I)/0.305), then east along Vivian Street for its full length to the intersection with Kent Terrace (RP 1075(I)/1.239) and south along Kent Terrace to its end at the Basin Reserve (RP 1075(I)/1.530), being approximately 1,530m in length.
(b) From the intersection of Buckle and Sussex Streets (RP 1075(D)/1.305), west along Buckle Street to
the northern side of the Taranaki Street intersection (RP 1075(D)/0.958), then continuing west along
the full length of Arthur Street to the Cuba Street intersection, then continuing west along Karo Drive to the intersection at Willis Street and continuing
in a north-westerly direction to join the northbound on ramp to the Terrace Tunnel and ending at the southern end of the Terrace Tunnel (RP 1075/0.000); being approximately 1,305m in length.
