Pursuant to section 16 of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008 ("the Act"), notice was given in the New Zealand Gazette, 9 June 2011, No. 81, page 1915, of proposals by the New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (the "Board") to alter geographic names.
Submissions were received on the proposed geographic names and were dealt with by the Board according to section 18 of the Act.
The Board hereby declares its final determinations, made pursuant to section 19 of the Act, and hereby gives notice, pursuant to section 21(2) of the Act, of the final determinations to alter geographic names.
The geographic names are now official geographic names and are specified in the first column of the Schedule below.
The geographic feature types that the geographic names relate to are set out in the second column of the Schedule.
The descriptions of the geographic names are set out in the third column of the Schedule.
The Board’s final determinations on these geographic names take effect on 26 January 2012.
