Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances
and New Organisms Act 1996 ("HSNO Act"), the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) advises that
it approved on 23 October 2012, the Code of Practice HSNOCOP 61 Rotationally Moulded Polythene Storage Tanks for Non Flammable Hazardous Substances.
This code has been developed by the Association of Rotational Moulders Australasia Inc. and provides a
means of compliance with the provisions of clauses 8(2)(h), 77(b) and 93 of Schedule 8 of the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004.
It provides for a design standard of a stationary tank as an alternative to the specified standards.
Pursuant to section 80(1) of the HSNO Act, this code may be inspected on request at the Wellington office of the Environmental Protection Authority, Level 10, 215 Lambton Quay, Wellington.
