1. This notice of a recommendation concerning the Electricity Governance (Bids and Offers) Amendment Rules 2010 is issued by the Electricity Commission ("Commission") pursuant to section 172E(2)(c) of the Electricity Act 1992 ("Act").
2. The Act provides that, no later than 10 working
days after making a recommendation to the Minister
of Energy and Resources ("Minister") concerning
the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 ("Rules"), the Commission must publicise the recommendation.
Recommended Amendments to the Rules
3. On 9 June 2010, the Commission recommended that changes be made to Rules 7.1 and 7.6 of Section II of Part G of the Rules.
4. The recommended rule amendments are to reduce the delay in publishing all final bids, offers and reserve offers from two weeks after the relevant trading day to the next day.
